Getting Here

Find us by name, not by the park

Address
Prince William Forest RV Park

16058 Dumfries Road, Dumfries, VA 22025

Directions

From I-95, take Exit 152B for Route 234 West / Dumfries Road. The campground entrance is about two miles ahead on the left, just past the Prince William Forest Park sign. Look for the Prince William Forest RV Park sign at the gate.

Big rigs

The approach from I-95 is easy — no low clearances or tight turns.

GPS note

Search for the campground by name, not for Prince William Forest Park. The park's main entrance is on Joplin Road (Route 619) and is not connected to the campground by road.

Park entrance fee

Our Dumfries Road entrance has no fee station, so you won't pay a park entrance fee to reach your site. If you drive into the main park on Joplin Road, the National Park Service charges $20 per vehicle, good for seven days. America the Beautiful passes cover it.

Campground Rules

We enforce the park's rules because they're why this place is still beautiful

Our staff lead with a friendly conversation. You'll acknowledge these rules at check-in — here they are in advance.

  • Your site

Up to 6 people and 2 vehicles per site. Camp and park only in designated areas; keep wheels on pavement and gravel.

  • Quiet hours

10 PM–7 AM. Keep voices and music to your site.

  • Pets

Welcome, on a leash of 6 feet or less at all times, and never left unattended — including inside your rig. Clean up immediately; bags are at the office. Pets aren't allowed in the pool area or restrooms.

  • Campfires

Only in the fire ring at your site, never unattended, and only when fire conditions allow. During Very High to Extreme fire danger, self-contained gas stoves only. Firewood must be certified heat-treated — buy it at our store. Wood from home can't come into the park.

  • Food & wildlife

Store all food, coolers, and scented items inside your RV or vehicle when you're not using them — not on the picnic table, not in a tent. Never feed wildlife.

  • Trash & recycling

All trash and recycling goes in the containers provided. Don't leave bags outside your rig overnight.

  • Water & sewer

Gray and black water go to your sewer hookup or the dump station only — never on the ground. Use a proper threaded sewer fitting; we'll check your connection after check-in and help if anything's off.

  • Speed limit

5 mph in the campground. Kids and dogs are everywhere.

  • Stay limits

Standard stays are limited to 14 days. A portion of our sites are set aside for longer stays — see Extended Stays or call us.

Wildlife & Leave No Trace

You're a guest in the forest

White-tailed deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, and the occasional black bear live here, and the only wildlife problems a campground ever has are the ones people create with food. Keep every scented item inside your rig, and you'll see wildlife the way it should be seen — at a distance, doing its own thing.

Leave your site cleaner than you found it.

Keep everything out of the creek — soap, gray water, food scraps, fishing line.

Stay on trails and hard surfaces; the forest floor here is still recovering.

Burn only certified firewood, and only in your fire ring.

Watch wildlife from a distance and never, ever feed it.
